About Me

I'm Adam Johnson, and I like to take pictures.

I was born in Minnesota, and grew up there, Wisconsin, and Ohio. I attended the University of Cincinnati, where I achieved my Masters Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering. It took me a while to figure out that I didn't have a passion for engineering, so the week after I graduated I loaded up a backpack and moved to New York City to work in the film business. It still sounds crazy to me, but you have to follow your dreams. I started out working as a production assistant, and after about 6 months I got into the camera department on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. To learn more about the film process I taught myself still photography, and developed my love of taking pictures. For the last nine years I have worked with cameras on many different projects in and around New York City. Please look up Adam Johnson on IMDB to see my film resumé.

Here I am, following my dreams again to start my own photography business. I've spent many years wandering around the city chasing the light. Living in New York City has provided me with many opportunities for taking great architectural photos using only natural light. In addition to my architectural photos I enjoy photographing people in their own environment using a photojournalistic style. From time to time I have been invited to document personal family moments for some of the actors I have worked with.

The photos here are only a starting point for the kinds of pictures I can take for you. If you're coming to New York, or traveling anywhere, let me come along and document your experience. If your looking for some new pictures of your friends and family, I'll come to you. If you're getting married, let me be there to create the images that you will have for life. If you're an animal lover like me, I'll take pictures of your furry friends at home or at an event you're participating in. If your pregnant, or have a newborn, let me follow the changes that are happening in your life. They're happening to me now! (my wife is due with our first son in August).

The architectural landscapes are available for purchase as individual prints, as a collage, or we could even create a personalized calendar. Most prints are available in either black and white or color.

I use Nikon cameras and am a member of the Professional Photographers of America, as well as The International Cinematographers Guild, Local 600.

LET ME TAKE YOUR PICTURES!
